The Venezuelan National Casinos Commission (CNC), under the
Ministry of Tourism, has joined efforts with the National Guard,
the National Customs and Tax Administration Service (Seniat)
and the Ministry of the Interior and Justice to undertake Mission
Zero Illegal Gambling.
This special task covers checking those businesses with slot
machines that have not been authorized or licensed by the organization,
CNC head Dalila Monserratt said in a press release.
Recently, three businesses, including one restaurant and two
horse race centers, were checked, resulting in seizure of 32
slot machines.
As reported by Monserratt, about 1,000 slot machines operate
illegally. The official urged the owners of such businesses
to refrain from infringing rules and regulations in order to
prevent any penalties.
The Mission will cover the whole nation to remove gradually
illegal gambling.
