President Chávez wants "New Tribes" out of Venezuela

During a speech on the occasion of the Day of Indigenous Resistance, President Hugo Chávez announced withdrawal of the "New Tribes, the true imperialist invasion" that could be sending strategic information to the CIA.

The ruler argued that "some days ago" he received from the military a report on the group activities.

"The New Tribes are nearby on the prairies. These are true imperialist invasions, the CIA, the true New Tribes that supply sensitive, strategic information and are exploiting the indigenous people. The report and the video are astounding."

"It is an order. The so-called New Tribes are leaving Venezuela," he emphasized, adding that "I do not give a damn" about any remarks both inside and outside Venezuela.

"This decision is final," he maintained. "They will have a deadline to take their belongings. We do not intend to rail on them, but we do want them out of here."
