During a ceremony Friday where the local legislature for
2006-2007 was sworn in, central Miranda state governor Diosdado
Cabello announced that Lina Ron, the leader of pro-government
UPV party, is to head the Social Single Fund.
The governor noted in a press release the social-welfare
work to be conducted by Lina Ron, including service to homeless,
street children and underprivileged, in order to improve their
quality of life.
He also pointed to the establishment of a center to serve
children and adolescents, located in San Pedro de los Altos.
In the educational area, Cabello talked about repair of schools
and recovery of pre-schools in Sucre Municipality. As for
health care, he made reference to maintenance of outpatient
centers.
Also, the governor is to submit a draft to President Hugo
Chávez on the construction of a freeway from Santa Lucía
to Kempis, in Tuy Valley.
