Over 50 percent of Venezuelans are open to back any alternative
to President Hugo Chávez, but some of them may join 45
percent who support the ruler, pollster Datanálisis found
in a recent survey disclosed Friday, Efe quoted.
With the election for president just around the corner, where
the head of state will run for reelection for the 2007-2013
term, Datanálisis Director Luis Vicente León told
foreign correspondents, "that 55 percent is a broth for any
political choice."
Forty-five percent of people interviewed from a sample of
1,300 homes nationwide would vote Chávez if elections
for president were held next Sunday.
León, who is under fire from all currents, added that
a 77.7 percent of support ascribed to the ruler by Vice-President
José Vicente Rangel could be the result of some target
question.
"It depends on how and what is being asked," he underscored
without rebutting the numbers quoted by Rangel. "In any case,
there is a broth to be developed," he said.
