Venezuelan Vice-President José Vicente Rangel called
"unacceptable" any attempts by the United States to confront
Venezuela with Israel due to "alleged anti-Semitism of the
Venezuelan Government."
This was the official reply to the remarks made Wednesday
by US Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) John Bolton, who
opposed Venezuela's incorporation into the UN Security Council.
"Bolton is part of the warlike team, headed by (US Secretary
of Defense Donald) Rumsfeld and including ultra leftwing sectors
in US politics and some groups in Venezuela eager to destabilize
the democratic and constitutional order, that intends to construe
the Jewish issue in a perverse way," the senior official said
in a press release.
He highlighted that the Venezuelan Government keeps "the
best relations with the Israeli state and Government," and
with the Jewish community based in Venezuela.
