Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez offered Grenada Prime
Minister Keith Mitchell to build in the Caribbean island more
houses and tanks to store fuel.
Based on a press release issued Friday, the possibility of
extending bilateral agreements to enhance Venezuela-Caribbean
integration was discussed during a meeting held Thursday night
in Caracas, AFP quoted.
"We dealt with the issue of Petrocaribe -an arrangement to
sell Venezuelan oil to the Caribbean on preferential terms-
and an agreement to supply them 1,000 bpd of oil to help development,"
President Chávez advised on leaving the meeting.
The ruler explained that Mitchell requested the extension
of house building started last year by Venezuela, along with
reconstruction of schools and roads, in the aftermath of hurricanes
in the island.
"We have there troops, civilian and military engineers. We
are checking it and will complete soon a stage of the works,"
Chávez mentioned.
