The 11th Execution Court has granted the alternative of domestic jail to journalist Ibéyise Pacheco, who surrendered early Wednesday following a bench warrant.

The court resolved that the reporter could serve the sentence at home with no police custody. However, she will face some restrictions concerning practice of journalism and visits.

Pacheco will not be able to record her radio show or write her weekly column.

Defense attorney Claudia Mujica had argued that Pacheco's physical, psychological and moral integrity could not be secured at the Los Teques Women's Penitentiary or at the Directorate for Intelligence, Security and Prevention (Disip.)

Mujica expects the Criminal Cassation Court, Supreme Tribunal of Justice, to dismiss the "null and void, unconstitutional" charges made by the Attorney General Office against her client for alleged false testimony.
