Foreign Minister asks for international investigation into 9/11

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro asked Tuesday for an international, standalone investigation into "the truth" of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001 upon the World Trade Center in New York City, Efe reported.

"An international, independent investigation should be undertaken to find out the whole truth about September 11th," he said in a public ceremony.

"Lies were fabricated regarding this terrorist attack. They were used to invade Afghanistan and substantiate the Iraq war, the coup against Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and the whole foreign policy of the terrorist gang ruling in the United States."
