Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro asked Tuesday
for an international, standalone investigation into "the truth"
of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001 upon the
World Trade Center in New York City, Efe reported.
"An international, independent investigation should be undertaken
to find out the whole truth about September 11th," he said
in a public ceremony.
"Lies were fabricated regarding this terrorist attack. They
were used to invade Afghanistan and substantiate the Iraq
war, the coup against Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez
and the whole foreign policy of the terrorist gang ruling
in the United States."
