US Ambassador to Venezuela William Brownfield made reference
to a report published by the US Congress claiming that the
US-Mexico border is at risk of "infiltration" of terrorists
holding Venezuelan identity documents.
He explained that the document "highlights an area where
we could cooperate undoubtedly: controls over passports, activities
of organizations in the region, movement of people and sharing
information between the two governments," Brownfield said,
as quoted by Unión Radio.
"I hope in the future, rather than talking about this kind
of reports at the US Congress, we could talk about wider cooperation
between our governments to resist, fight and curb and eventually
eradicate terrorism in the region."
