CNE invites officially The Carter Center as an observer


The chair of National Electoral Council (CNE) Tibisay Lucena has ratified an invitation to The Carter Center to join the team of international observers during the election of December 3rd.

"The Carter Center has expressed interest in taking part as an observer in upcoming polls. We, at CNE, have answered to such request and have made the formal invitation. Accordingly, we expressed our interest in paving the way for international involvement," the director maintained.

As stated by Lucena, CNE is ready to impose legal sanctions on the individuals who were randomized as poll workers, but fail to attend both training and the presidential election.

The official noted that CNE will be responsible for the training of all Venezuelans who should make electoral service. In addition, special courses will be implemented for witnesses of all political parties.
