Opposition Partido Popular (PP) in Spain railed Wednesday
on the decision made by the Venezuelan government of President
Hugo Chávez not to renew a concession for private TV
channel Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV), and called the
move an "attack on freedom of expression."
PP Secretary of International Relations Jorge Moragas voiced
"concern and worry" about the action, which "is a direct attack
on pluralism and freedom of expression" accorded to the Venezuelan
people.
Monagas labeled as "cynical" that Elena Valenciano, a member
of the European Parliament for ruling Partido Socialista (PSOE)
termed the action an "administrative decision," DPA reported.
