Journalist Leopoldo Castillo appeared Thursday in the Attorney
General Office as he was summoned in connection with an investigation
into claims made by Minister of Communication and Information
William Lara that local TV news channel Globovisión,
and particularly Castillo's talk show Aló, Cuidadano
(Hello, Citizen) were encouraging the assassination of President
Hugo Chávez.
Upon his arrival in the Attorney General Office, Castillo
declared: "I am very calm and confident, because I have a
clear conscience. I have never used violence as a political
weapon. I am a man who believes in ideas and allegations."
Dozens of people showed support for Castillo as he entered
the Attorney General Office in downtown Caracas.
