Venezuela sends humanitarian aid to Nicaragua
Venezuela Thursday dispatched eight tons of goods, non-perishable
goods, blankets, medicines and a multi-purpose vehicle to
the Republic of Nicaragua, to help alleviate the situation
facing the victims of Hurricane Felix, said Minister of the
Interior and Justice Pedro Carreño.
The official stressed that a Humanitarian Taskforce Liberator
Simón Bolívar -comprising 20 different professionals-
departed for the Central American country, official news agency
ABN reported.
"The group comprises paramedics, doctors, firemen and risk
assessment experts. They departed onboard a Hercules C130
airplane of the Venezuelan Air Force and will be welcomed
by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega himself."
