Venezuela sends humanitarian aid to Nicaragua

Venezuela Thursday dispatched eight tons of goods, non-perishable goods, blankets, medicines and a multi-purpose vehicle to the Republic of Nicaragua, to help alleviate the situation facing the victims of Hurricane Felix, said Minister of the Interior and Justice Pedro Carreño.

The official stressed that a Humanitarian Taskforce Liberator Simón Bolívar -comprising 20 different professionals- departed for the Central American country, official news agency ABN reported.

"The group comprises paramedics, doctors, firemen and risk assessment experts. They departed onboard a Hercules C130 airplane of the Venezuelan Air Force and will be welcomed by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega himself."
