Governor Rosales proposes constituent assembly after referendum
Manuel Rosales, governor of western Zulia state, feels that
after the constitutional referendum on December, a national
constituent assembly should be established.
"I think that, definitely, in Venezuela, after this constitutional
referendum, we should think seriously about a national constituent
assembly, because it would mean recreation and reconciliation
of the country."
Rosales claimed that the country cannot work in the midst
of violence, disunion and destruction of history, institutions
and value.
"This country should find a solution, and that solution should
be, of course, a tool that helps us reconcile, join and build
a society where all Venezuelans can feel represented."
The state governor maintained that the changes to the Constitution
submitted by President Hugo Chávez point to favor the
people who are presently in power.
