Bolivia confirms dynamite attack against Venezuelan consulate

The Bolivian government Monday confirmed that two low-intensity "dynamite attacks" were perpetrated early on Monday against the Venezuelan Consulate and a building used by Cuban doctors in the eastern town of Santa Cruz.

Alex Contreras, spokesman of Bolivian President Evo Morales, told local media that the "dynamite attacks" left no people injured or serious material damages, Efe informed.

"We believe this was a coward action. These actions are intended to display a reality that is not apparent in Santa Cruz town, let alone in the country. Therefore, we have requested a comprehensive investigation."

The official said the Bolivian government has contacted Cuban Ambassador Rafael Dausá and Venezuelan Ambassador Julio Montes to get information on the attacks.
