Quiroga: This is the beginning of the end for Chávez

Former Bolivian President Jorge Quiroga, the leader of the major opposition alliance in Bolivia, Monday said the victory of the bloc opposed to the intended changes to the Venezuelan Constitution in Sunday referendum "is the beginning of the end" for the "tyrant regime" leaded by President Hugo Chávez.

The leader of Podemos said in a news conference that "the Venezuelan people were courageous, outstanding and impressive" as "in the most adverse circumstances it said yes to democracy and freedom and no to constitutional tyranny."

Quiroga was acting as a foreign observer in Sunday referendum, but the electoral body removed his credentials for expressing his views about Venezuelan political affairs and campaigning against the reform.
