Spanish timber companies probe into business in Venezuela

A dozen Spanish exporters of agricultural and timber machineries arrived on Monday in Venezuela to prospect for business, reported sources of the Spanish Embassy Commercial Office.

There are seven exporters from the Association of Spanish Manufacturers of Machinery, Equipments and Goods to Work Timber (Afemma).

The remaining four companies are members of the Spanish Association of Manufacturers-Exporters of Agricultural Machinery and its Components, Irrigation Systems, Equipment for Livestock and Post-Harvest (Agragex).

"The Venezuelan market offers a great opportunity" to these companies, because they belong to "two sectors where there is virtually no local competition," the sources told Efe.
