New Hampshire accepts cheap oil from Venezuela
Two years ago, New Hampshire refused to accept subsidized fuel
from Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, due to his caustic
anti-US rhetoric, AP reported.
But now with the price of oil skyrocketing, New Hampshire residents
will be receiving some of the fuel this winter, with the blessing
of N.H. governor.
"A lot of people have said, 'We need help, no matter where
it comes from,'" said Amy Ignatius, director of New Hampshire's
office of Energy and Planning.
The oil supply will be managed by Citizens Energy, a non-profit
organization set up by former Rep. Joseph Kennedy to help
poor people.
