Western Hemisphere
The Colombian army found over a ton of explosives that alleged guerrilla members of the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC) were hiding in a location near Puerto Inírida, a town in the border with Venezuela, military sources reported.

The material found was pentolite, which is an "explosive with high destructive capacity," said the regional division of the Army that is stationed in the area with infantry troops of the jungle brigade, EFE reported.

The military source said that the explosives, weighing 1,010 kilos, were found Tuesday in San Felipe, a rural village of Puerto Inírida, the capital of the department of Guainía.

The finding was made during a military operation against the 16th Front of the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces.
