During the TV program Aló Presidente teórico (Theoretical Hello President), which is broadcasted on Thursdays by the state-run TV station Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), President Hugo Chávez referred to the private opposition TV channel Globovisión, although he did not mention its name. Venezuela' President said that it is possible that the concession for the TV network will come to an end.
"Every day there is growing possibility; to terminate it (the broadcast concession) in advance," Chávez said at the Teresa Carreño Complex, downtown Caracas. He warned that if opposition groups stage protests, "we will go to the street and we thrash them. If they take the rifles, we will also take our weapons."
Later, Chávez referred to the travel to the United States of the Caracas Metropolitan Mayor Antonio Ledezma, although he did not mention his name. The head of state discredited opposition representatives for "asking for help all over the world." ¿Haven't you noticed that they are constantly travelling to Washington or Bogotá?" Chávez said that "most of the world community is in favor of Venezuela and the revolution."
Venezuela's President also urged young members of the pro-government United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) to explore "in depth" the events that have been taking place in Honduras and their destabilizing effects in the region.
