The US Government voiced on Monday concern about the suspension last weekend of some cable TV channels in Venezuela, including RCTV Internacional.
"Every time a government closes an independent network, it is a matter of concern. And we will express such concerns to any government, including the Venezuelan government," Philip Crowley, a spokesman of the US Department of State, said during a press conference, AFP quoted.
Crowley reported that the US Embassy in Caracas transmitted Washington view to local authorities last weekend.
Last Saturday, domestic cable operators removed the signal of RCTV Internacional and some other cable TV channels under a recent law that forces them to disseminate some messages from President Hugo Chávez.
