Venezuelan authorities have been given the green light to request the US Government to hand over Guillermo Zuloaga, the CEO of news TV channel Globovisión, and his son Guillermo Zuloaga Núñez. The Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) authorized an application for extradition made by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The Public Prosecutor's Office has accused Zuloaga and his son of usury and conspiracy. Last year, police authorities searched their house and seized a lot of vehicles.
Early last July, Zuloaga visited Washington and reported at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) on the alleged lack of freedom of expression in Venezuela.
