Rawan Saabagh, the president of state-run iron ore company Ferrominera del Orinoco said that there is sufficient evidence to say that the incidents reported in Ferrominera were acts of "sabotage."
He added that in most cases, the electrical system had been tampered with.
Law enforcement officials have arrested two people involved in the incidents and they were taken to the public prosecution office. Saabagh said that another worker of the basic companies in Guayana was found on Monday night. He said that the Scientific, Penal and Criminology Investigation Police Agency (Cicpc) would provide more details.
Saabagh said that alleged sabotage actions have also been reported in other basic companies such as Minerven, Sidor, Venalum and Enelco.
