The Venezuelan oil basket ended at USD 97.56 per barrel this week, slipping USD 55 cents (0.56%), the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining reported.
Most crude oil prices declined as hurricane Sandy lashed out at the US east coast this week. Since refineries were shut down, crude oil demand fell.
Despite this week's decline in oil prices, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining did not report variations in the annual average price of the Venezuelan crude oil, which remained unchanged at USD 104.79 per barrel.

The dialogue experience
José Vicente Rangel clearly said: "We are not conducting negotiations threatened with a gun in the head." He warned behind closed doors in the midst of the social upheaval occurred during the oil strike in 2002 and 2003. Dissenting Timoteo Zambrano answered back that no other option was available: "The thing is that otherwise, you do not negotiate."
