A new incident took place at the facilities of Venezuelan state-run oil company Pdvsa on Sunday. Three workers were injured.
According to information revealed by the oil company, the event occurred at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday in Pdvsa's upgrader of Petromonagas, a joint venture attached to the upgrading division, Production Department of the Orinoco Oil Belt (FPO).
The incident was attributed to "a mechanical failure caused by pressure" during cleaning of tank 31-TK-3101. The event "led to a leak of non-inflammable biodegradable solution."
Firefighters and members of the health and safety team responded 40 minutes after the incident, thus avoiding damages to the facilities and the environment, Pdvsa explained.

José Vicente Rangel clearly said: "We are not conducting negotiations threatened with a gun in the head." He warned behind closed doors in the midst of the social upheaval occurred during the oil strike in 2002 and 2003. Dissenting Timoteo Zambrano answered back that no other option was available: "The thing is that otherwise, you do not negotiate."
