Venezuela to assemble and export exclusive Chery cars to Mercosur
The Ministry of Industries remarked that Venezuela aims at assembling 11,000 cars during its first production year
The information was disclosed by Minister of Industries Ricardo Menéndez, who stressed that the two countries have already entered the agreement where China will no longer assemble the two car models (to be determined soon) so that Venezuela can boost both its economy and exporting capacity.
The minister remarked that Venezuela aims at assembling 11,000 vehicles during its first production year.
Venezuela will address similar proposals in the next Venezuelan-Chinese meeting on cooperation, whose date and place have not been defined yet. The meeting will aim at extending the agreement to other joint ventures with assembly plants in Venezuela and obtaining exclusivity to assemble products for exportation.

President Nicolás Maduro is not only the heir to the throne, but also to an economic crisis which demanded urgent measures to rectify the course. The crisis showed up in two aspects: a 50% inflation estimate, and shortage of staples ranging between 70% and 98%. These issues might hit the President's poor popularity; considering his feeble electoral victory of 1% over his challenger.
