On Friday morning, 34,509 illegal firearms were destroyed in Barquisimeto, the capital city of Lara state, in the context of Plan Disarmament.
Venezuela's Minister of the Interior and Justice took part in the operation. According to him, 50,740 illegal firearms have been destroyed this year.
The first massive destruction of arms took place last July 9. At that time, 16,231 arms that had been seized throughout the country were eliminated.
