Peru's Humala gives President Chávez support

Peruvian President Ollanta Humala said late on Wednesday that he is likely to visit Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez once he recovers from a cancer surgery that he underwent on Tuesday in Cuba.

"Certainly, if necessary" (I will travel), noted Humala after being asked by journalists whether we would visit his counterpart at this moment.

The Peruvian President, who was participating at a Christmas official ceremony at the Government Palace, did not specify if he would travel to Cuba.

For the third time since last weekend, Humala has come out in support of the Venezuelan president.
