Late on Saturday, the four executive directors of investment firm Econoinvest were released pending trial. They will have to appear in court regularly and were banned from leaving the country.
The trial of Herman Sifontes, Juan Carlos Carvallo, Ernesto Rangel and Miguel Osío will continue its course, but the defendants will face the charges in freedom.
On Friday, relatives of detainees attended a Mass to pray for the release of Econoinvest directors, who were held in detention for two years and seven months.
