Cardinal Urosa: Uncertainty over Chávez will be dispelled on Jan. 10

He asked Venezuelans to trust the wisdom of political leaders from all sectors, whom he urged to "stick to what is provided for in the Constitution, enforce the rules and apply them, in order to resolve any situation that may emerge from now until January 10"

After the announcement made by Executive Vice-President Nicolas Maduro on the critical state of health of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, Cardinal Jorge Urosa Savino, called on the country to pray for Chávez. "Let us ask God to strengthen him in this time."

He added the uncertainty about what will happen in the country regarding Chávez's inauguration will be resolved on January 10. "We will know the progress made by the president and we will know what comes next."

Cardinal Urosa Savino said that Venezuelans "must rely on the wisdom of political leaders from all sectors," whom he urged to "stick to what is provided for in the Constitution, enforce the rules and apply them, in order to resolve any situation that may emerge from now until January 10."
