China wishes President Chávez a "prompt recovery"

The Chinese Government expressed on Thursday its concerns about Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez's health condition, and wished him a prompt recovery.
"Venezuela is China's friendly country and we hope it can preserve both stability and economic and social development," the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Affairs Office, Hong Lei, told EFE.
China's statement was issued one day after the Venezuela's Supreme Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday that it was not necessary to swear in reelected President Hugo Chávez on January 10 considering that Chávez already holds the presidential office.
