Chávez requires specific actions for respiratory failure
Venezuelan Minister of Communication and Information Ernesto Villegas said that "the patient (Hugo Chávez) is conscious and keeps in touch with his close relatives accompanying him at the moment"
Despite the delicate health condition of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez after undergoing a fourth cancer operation on December 11, his overall clinical progress "has been favorable and his respiratory infection is under control." However, the Venezuelan president requires "specific actions for his respiratory failure."
The information was released late on Sunday by Minister of Communication and Information Ernesto Villegas, who addressed the country in a mandatory nationwide radio and television broadcast.
"The patient is strictly following his medical treatment." "The president is conscious. He is in communication with his family and his political team and medical staff. He keeps abreast of any relevant information."
This is the government's first report on President Chávez's health state ever since January 7.
They are marching in step to the same tune. There is a coordinated effort to position the idea. The Twitter hashtag #YoSoyVictimaDeLaGuarimba (I'm a victim of "guarimbas", or protest barricades) can be read on all pro-government Twitter accounts, including those of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the National Assembly's Press Office, the state-run food distribution network PDVAL, state airline Conviasa, the Venezuelan embassies in foreign countries, radio stations and the huge media network responsive to the Government's interests and messages.
