For the first time in the history of the procession of the Holy Shepherd, priests carried Virgin Mary on their shoulders to the site of the farewell ceremony.

The Eucharist was administered by Monsignor Antonio José López Castillo, the archbishop of Barquisimeto, the capital city of Lara state. "We should observe and enforce our Constitution," he reminded during his speech.

The priest noted the participation in the mass of Miranda state governor Henrique Capriles Radonski, together with Lara state governor Henry Falcón.

The religious ceremony would be followed by the 157th visit of the Holy Shepherd to Barquisimeto. In the meantime, thousand worshippers remained in the town of Santa Rosa, praying and singing religious chants honoring the Virgin.

Whose victim am I?

They are marching in step to the same tune. There is a coordinated effort to position the idea. The Twitter hashtag  #YoSoyVictimaDeLaGuarimba (I'm a victim of "guarimbas", or protest barricades) can be read on all pro-government Twitter accounts, including those of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the National Assembly's Press Office, the state-run food distribution network PDVAL, state airline Conviasa, the Venezuelan embassies in foreign countries, radio stations and the huge media network responsive to the Government's interests and messages.
