Colombian FM to meet with her Venezuelan counterpart on Friday
Via telephone call, Colombian Foreign Minister María Ángela Holguín confirmed her meeting with newly appointed Foreign Minister Elías Jaua, who appreciated the "friendly and fraternal expressions" he has received from some of his regional counterparts
"Colombian Foreign Minister María Ángela Holguín expressed her willingness to take concrete steps in order to strengthen all areas of cooperation with Venezuela," the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said in a communiqué.
Holguín confirmed her visit to Caracas through a telephone call held with the Venezuelan FM, who expressed his gratitude for the "friendly and fraternal expressions" he has received from some of his regional counterparts, Venezuelan state-run news agency AVN cited.
On Wednesday, the newly appointed foreign minister met with Argentinean Planning Minister Julio de Vido in an attempt to "reinforce Venezuela-Argentina trade."
Around 1.5 million Venezuelans have decided to emigrate in search of a better future for their families. The figure accounts to between 4% and 6% of the overall population. Approximately 88% of these expatriates have made up their mind to emigrate over the last 15 years.
