Russian President Vladimir Putin is confident that his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chávez will successfully recover in Havana, Cuba, and come back to keep on working on "a prosperous, strong Venezuela."

"More than once I am convinced that you are a true fighter, a valiant, a man with a strong will," Russian President Vladimir Putin wrote down in a letter read out on Wednesday by Venezuelan Vice-President Nicolás Maduro.
