Fidel Castro welcomes President Hugo Chávez's return to Venezuela

On the occasion of President Hugo Chávez's return to Venezuela early on Monday, former Cuban leader Fidel Castro welcomed Chávez's come back after more than two months in hospital in Havana.

"I am very pleased that you have been able to get back to the piece of land of the Americas that you love so much, and to that fraternal people, who has given you so much support. A long and distressing wait, your amazing physical resilience and the total dedication of the medical team (...) were necessary to obtain such a goal," Cuban former president Fidel Castro stressed in a letter released by the Cuban National Information Agency.

"You learned a lot about life, Hugo, in those difficult days of suffering and sacrifices (...) we will always fight for justice among human beings without being afraid of the years, the months, the days, or the hours. We will do it with humbleness and fully aware of the fact that we lived in the most difficult time in the history of humankind," the former Cuban leader expressed.
