Honduran President Porfirio Lobo is to travel to Venezuela in the weeks ahead to pay tribute to late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, an official source informed on Thursday.

Lobo is expected to give Chávez's family a posthumous award for the intercession of the late president in the signing of the Cartagena Agreement, which consolidated the path for national reconciliation after the coup that ousted Manuel Zelaya in June 2009, said the Honduran presidential office in a brief note.

A source from the Honduran Executive Office told EFE on Thursday that Lobo has not defined when he will travel to Venezuela yet.
